Using indigenous techniques, the Wichà women create artisanal pieces that carry deep cultural meaning. Central to their craft is the Chaguar plant, found in the Gran Chaco region, (Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia)
After careful preparation, the plant’s fibers are spun into threads and dyed with natural pigments from roots, barks, flowers, and fruits. These threads are then woven into intricate items such as fruit baskets, bags, hats and more.
Each piece, requiring at least a month to complete, stands as a testament to the Wichà women’s exceptional craftsmanship and their deep connection to nature and ancestral traditions.
Designs are inspired by the Wichà cultural universe, often featuring native animals like the Suri and the Owl.
*Please note: Each item crafted with its own unique charm. as they are handmade products, the measurements and color tones may vary
